Customer Testimonials

Here's what our customers have to say about dataVoice:

"When I think of dataVoice I think of a simple interface, fair price and excellent support.  The impetus here is to provide information to the members, customer service and dispatch/ operations. Engineering is only in the picture to feed modeling data—not to make the engineers work every outage."
- Ian Fleming, Upshur Rural Electric

“You have exceeded my expectations.”
- Dave Sermons, East Central Oklahoma

"I felt the Map publisher process, with the orderly steps and data checks along the way, to be the best post-processor type program I have ever dealt with. We have several similar program that we use in our GIS world and neither gives you any indication of where you are or if things are doing what they are supposed to do. I am also very impressed with the GIS network analysis tools that dataVoice provided as a part of our package and have already used it to correct conversion mistakes in our geodatabase, something I should have done months ago if I had had these types of tools in our GIS package."
- Tim Brecht, Adams Electric Cooperative

"I just wanted to say a big ‘THANKS’ to you for your help with the phone replacement and interface with our IVR. dataVoice put in many extra hours working with the telecom people to work out the connection issues, and it made for a smooth and successful cut over. "
- Alan Wagoner, Arkansas Valley

“We chose dataVoice for two basic reasons—price and flexibility. When I think of dataVoice International, the words that come to mind are flexibility, efficiency, customer-oriented, and easy to learn and use.”
- Abdiel Leon, Magic Valley Electric

"It is amazing how much we look at this [Outage Status Maps] after hours. Thank you."
- Shannon Still, Walton EMC

"I'm sure you may already know that we had a large number of outages here at Adams on Friday afternoon but I wanted you all to know how helpful your support department was when I called in for help. We had just gotten done with a transmission outage when the storm outages started coming in, and we were trying to get all the first outages closed to get them off the map. It was very hectic here, but your support team was very patient with me to help us get things cleared up. Thanks to all of you at dataVoice!"
- Joyce Bockhold, Adams Electric

“The GIS Publisher has proven to be a been a very useful tool, I run my data thru the GIS data tools, it finds no errors, and then run the same data thru the GIS Publisher and it can find up to 30 areas that need to be addressed. This has been a great data quality process that has in turn improved our outage analysis.”
- Randall Abel, North East Mississippi EPA

“After the training, the users and managers were very excited about the benefits of the system. We were successfully able to manage a medium-scale outage on the first day of implementation. Keep in mind that this is after two training days and one mock test run with the employees that would eventually operate the system.”
- Ian Fleming, Upshur Rural Electric

“The biggest benefit to having prediction logic built into our system is that 98% of the time we know where the problem is before we dispatch a crew. We can tell them where to go to find the problem as well as the materials they are likely to need to repair it. Predictions have definitely cut down on outage restore times as well as improved customer confidence in the utility. Customers like to hear what the problem is as well as an estimation of when it will be fixed. It takes some of the stress out of working an outage as well.”
- Trent Galbraith, Idaho Falls Power

"The new ‘CIS to GIS non-matches’ tool provides a very nice built-in query that lists active meters in our billing system that are not in our GIS database. We are now in the final stages of the GPS inventory and have received all meters found in the field. After running the ‘CIS to GIS non-matches’ tool, we found several active CIS meters that did not match. We investigated each record and were able to determine if the meter was behind a marker (GIS feature class showing no access), on the City of Tallahassee’s system, missed by our data collector, should be in staking or if the meter numbers (CIS-GIS) did not match on circuits that have not been delivered. We plan on running the ‘CIS to GIS non-matches’ tool regularly to identify future active meters that have not been added to the map."
- Ken Stocks, Talquin Electric Cooperative

“I liked the sales team’s approach because they didn't appear to be a sales team. The personable approach and technical knowledge of everyone at the dataVoice family gave me a high comfort level that they would personally take ownership of the stated capabilities of the product that they recommend. The most notable benefit is to our members. These benefits are transparent to the user of the system but should not be overlooked. The outage system has intelligence more than just answering the calls; it informs our members that (1) we know about their trouble, (2) that it is being worked on, and (3) allows for a ‘good’ abandoned call to free up more phone lines for other members.”
- Ian Fleming, Upshur Rural Electric

"I wanted to Thank You Very Much for ALL your help through our outages Friday night. It was so hectic here and you always hope you don't have to make that call during outages but it does happen. You were Very Patient with me and I really appreciate ALL you did."
- Joyce Bockhold, Adams Electric

“GIS gives us the ability to do what we want. We have not found any limitations on GIS as of yet. We use GIS for mapping, design, spatial analysis, OMS, and SynerGEE. All of those things are maintained and derived from one GIS database as opposed to a separate database for each one. The sky is the limit when you have an open architecture, enterprise-wide GIS system. New tools can be created to assist in everything you do. If you have the programming knowledge and you know what you want you can make it happen. Some databases out there are only seen and used by the engineer. Our system can be seen and used by anybody, which allows us to receive feedback from those people as well. If they see an error we hear about it and can fix it, thereby keeping our system as accurate as it can be.”
- Trent Galbraith, Idaho Falls Power

"So far we are pleased with the progress that has been made with dataVoice Publisher. When we published our first map, we had approximately half of our system delivered with connectivity. At that time, we also had roughly 15,000 meters GPSed and delivered in weekly meter read excel spreadsheets. We created a shapefile of GPSed meters ahead of the circuit deliveries. dataVoice set up a directory in GIS Publisher that allowed us to use the GPSed meter locations in the outage map without connectivity but by circuit. Each time we received a new delivery, we deleted the duplicate meters from the shapefile. By maintaining two GIS files (delivered with connectivity and GPSed but not delivered), we were able to start managing outages spatially even on meters without full connectivity."
